How to Run a Diagnostic Test on a Controller

Retrieving diagnostic information from a Q.station or Q.monixx controller for troubleshooting purposes by Gantner Instruments.

Retrieving diagnostic information from the controller can be achieved through an auto-run script that automatically executes when a USB drive is connected to a controller. This diagnostic script will not impact the configuration of the controller.

  1. Take an empty USB drive and format it to FAT32.

  2. Copy the auto-run script "autorun.sh" to your USB drive from the following location: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Gantner Instruments\GI.bench\additionals\Scripts\Controller\Diagnostic
  3. Insert the USB drive into your controller while the system is running.
  4. Wait for the controller to restart, observing any changes in LED states, or wait for at least 5 minutes if no changes occur.
  5. Disconnect the USB drive from the controller.

👉 To confirm the process was completed successfully, you can perform the following steps:

    1. Plug the USB drive into a PC.
    2. Check if the ending of autorun.sh changed from .sh to .xxx (if not, the script was not executed).
    3. Check if there are *.txx files on the drive and a directory called 'config'.
    4. Zip the content of the USB drive and email this to your local technical support representative.
